Terms of Use

The terms that apply to this website and its comparison data.

Last updated: 1 June 2026

These Terms of Use govern your use of the electriccar.compare website (the "Site"), operated by Electric Car Compare ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Site you agree to these terms.

1. Information, not advice

The Site provides general comparison information about new electric vehicles. Nothing on it is financial, legal or purchase advice for your specific circumstances, and no content is a recommendation to buy any particular vehicle. The help-me-choose service provides general, opinion-based suggestions to assist your own research and decision-making.

2. Specs are indicative guide figures

Vehicle specifications, prices and figures on this Site are indicative guides, normalised for comparison (base-variant pricing before on-road costs; best-variant WLTP-style range; claimed DC charging peaks). Manufacturers change specifications, variants and pricing frequently and without notice. Always confirm current details with the manufacturer or an authorised dealer before making any purchase decision. We accept no responsibility for decisions made in reliance on figures shown here.

3. Independence & trademarks

We are an independent comparison site. We are not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by any vehicle manufacturer. All vehicle names, model names and brands — including Tesla, BYD, Hyundai, Kia, MG, GWM, Polestar, Volvo, Cupra and Volkswagen — are trademarks of their respective owners and are used solely to identify the vehicles being compared. If we introduce referral partnerships in the future, they will be disclosed on the relevant pages and will not alter comparison data or ordering.

4. No warranty

The Site and its data are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind — including as to accuracy, completeness or currency — to the fullest extent permitted by law. Nothing in these terms excludes rights under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

5. Intellectual property

The compilation, design, code and content of this Site are owned by us or our licensors. You may view, link to and reference the Site; you may not scrape, reproduce or republish its dataset or content at scale without permission.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Site — including attempting unauthorised access, interfering with its operation, submitting unlawful content through the form, or using it to send spam.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the Site or reliance on its content.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that State.

9. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Site means you accept the current version.
